What happens when time passes too quickly!

Time passes too quickly and my dedication to this blog went by the wayside as soon as Baby #2 arrived, survived another c-section, became sleep deprived for the last 10 months and found facebook so all my energy went into that. This family blog is just a teeny bit outdated - I hope to rectify that and turn it into a fun place to visit for those who want to know about our life, see pics of the kids and read my arcane comments on domestic life. In order to serve those who have been checking this once in a while, I will be updating in a five part series titled, "Catch up with "S" household" complete with pictures over the next month. Stay tuned..you're going to see the fastest slideshow on the last couple of years of our life.

Tali at play

Tali has discovered oven mitts, she's enthralled with them and likes to walk around waving them around on her little hands.
We also were invited to a pool party for Canada Day and are practicing jumping into the pool with our friends, Quinn and Emily.
And of course, we had our first dress up party with our stuffies. She loves getting into Mommy's jewellery and putting it all on. We found Mommy's stash of hats as well. I think we may have a girlie, girl on our hands.

Trip to Cuba - May, 2007

We stayed at the Iberostar Varadero, Cuba. It was Tali's first time on an airplane and she did so well, even with the funky flight times. She loved the sand, the beach and the pool. For some reason, the air must taste better in Cuba because she spent the whole time with her tongue hanging out, almost lapping up the salty air. She had just taken a few steps on her own right before we left and she loved to practice this around the dining areas. The people at the resort were so friendly and continually called her, the little flower. She did look pretty darn cute, with the humidity her hair was all curly, all the time.

Tali at the park and her first haircut!

As the weather warmed up, we spent a beautiful Saturday in Port Credit at the park with our friends. As well, it was Grandma Nadia's birthday the end of May so Tali had to get her first haircut for the occasion. Boy, was Daddy glad to see the crazy, long bangs looking more manageable!

Tali - Group Birthday Pictures and Finally Spring!

Well, Natalie is now 14 months today! It's hard to believe it's 2 months past her 1st birthday. We all attended a group birthday party at Balls of Fun with our friends - it was a lot of fun watching the little ones exploring and soaking in the atmosphere. My favorite moments were seeing her passing a toy to one of her friends, watching as they all tentatively checked out what each other were doing and then when Natalie decided she wanted to try to climb up the play-yard to the slide, with Mommy's help of course!
Today, (April 20th) was the first, real warm spring day - it was beautiful. Grandma Nancy came to visit and we went to the park in the afternoon to check out the swings. Natalie just grins the whole time but holy - this kid will not laugh unless it's something really funny. Both Mommy and Grandma were trying but she would just smile and go back to looking intently at something. She loved the play area and the slide and wanted to go again and again until Mommy's back just couldn't crouch into the tiny spaces any longer. After playing - we picked a very soft grassy spot to rest on. I almost forgot that this year is Natalie's first time on the grass - she wouldn't even put her hands down for a good 5 minutes and then proceeded to pull out the grass and give one to me, one to Grandama and even one to Jake. :-) Eventually, she had to move but her reaction was the most hilarious thing I've seen - a face of wonder, disgust and uncertainty all wrapped into one as her little hands plunked into the grass. But she seemed okay after a while and tentatively made her way around. Overall, a great way to spend some time outside on this beautiful day.

The last of the Easter pics

Tali at Easter

Well, now that I've caught up on Tali's pictures to write a little bit. It's been a bit of a rough couple of months with illnesses since we started daycare, but the last 2 weeks have been good (knock on wood!) so here's to hoping we can stay away from any icky colds until the warmer weather! Being a back to work Mom has a lot of pros and cons but I think we're managing. The house may be a bit of a disaster but nothing a few good weeks of committed time won't cure.

Easter weekend was our first big family outing since the last batch of illnesses in early March. Tali did well, checking out her many cousins at Noni and Poppa's and cautiously trying to get in on the action with the boys. Once she's comfortable on her feet, I think that will help her confidence a great deal! She got to meet her new cousin, Auora, who is less than a week old and kept wanting to poke her but didn't get upset when Mommy held the new baby. Afterwards, we put wrapped up baby back into the car seat, (what is with the snow??) and headed to Grandma's house for a big Easter lunch. The kid does not stop eating and I'm not sure where she's putting it! She was on a huge milk kick today as well - making up for the last few weeks I guess.

So, in all the above as an intro - here is Tali's Easter 2007.

Tali - having fun.

And the birthday photos keep on coming...

Happy Birthday Cont...

Happy 1 year birthday!
